New Changes

As you may have noticed… I changed the look of the main navigation menu up above.
I was never quite satisfied with the old design. The look is new and is reflected or complimented by the page footer at the bottom.

I also implemented the 900 pixel layout rule to the entire site.

Rather soon I’m going to update my portfolio pages. I like the layout right now but I’m thinking of doing something different. I’m also entertaining thoughts of adding a web photo gallery to the site.

More Real Estate

I decided to expand the width of my blog to 900 pixels up from 800 pixels to add more room to the sidebars.I noticed that in the previous layout that sidebar content was a bit squished so I figured it would be a good idea to add some more space to make it easier on the eyes. The rest of The Site is still 800 pixels in width but will soon be expanded to 900 pixels just to keep things consistent around here. Making changes on the stylesheet was a relatively painless affair in the expansion.

I’m entertaining thoughts of redoing the main menu… maybe adding a gradient scheme for the main navingation bar as well as a redesign of my portfolio pages and adding a web photo gallery to The Site.

Web Site Maintenance

Did some housekeeping or should I say Spring cleaning over here at Division X Design.
I added a footer to each page with main site navigation. Cleaned up my feedback form and added today’s date to the main page.
I’m thinking about re-styling the main menu with something a bit more… uhmmm creative and also looking into a redo my portfolio pages too.

PHP menus

I want to add PHP menus to the site and I think this site will give me an idea on how to incorporate them into the site. I know that the menu bar above does not look quite right and I will take care of that in the next day or so. Unordered lists can be a pain sometimes to code out but I’m trying to do away with extraneous CSS rules and hacks that aren’t necessary.

Picking up PHP conditional statements…

Ok so I know it’s a bit late but I just finished PHP lesson 2 which
covers conditional statements, and logical operators as well as “if – else”.
So far this is thee best website about learning PHP that I have seen so far mainly because the information presented is easy to read and understand.
You can see the results of what I learned here. Just enter something in one of the fields and your results will be processed by the PHP code as soon as you hit submit. There’s a bunch of jabberwocky on the feedback page but I did leave a treat for you guys to see.

Bring me lesson 3!

I found the following site to be helpful… Devzone

consequently it’s not as hard as I thought it would be… and I went through the 1st lesson just like that.

if you know of any other sites that show you how to create anything with PHP code drop me a link.

(FYI comments that link to other sites not related to this post will NOT be approved!)
